Valentines 2016 at Tokyo, Japan

4/13/2016

Comments

Last Hearts Day, we were lucky enough to celebrate this day and 6 more at Tokyo Japan. I’ll be sharing with you some of our photos of places we’ve seen . My sister-in-law who resides in Japan  toured us around.
First, we went to bustling neon-lit Shibuya known as “The Scramble” where pedestrians crossed the streets as vehicles were stopped by traffic light change. I was trying to capture this through video but as I crossed the streets, I was taken aback as people from every direction tried to cross before another light change. Several famous department stores  lined this area and it’s great if you love shopping. We even get a great meal here. Perfect hot ramen for a cold weather.
Second,  Asakusa which means “shallow grass” or “ little grass”  is a district in  Taitō, Tokyo, Japan. This is famous for its Buddhist Temple known as  Sensō-ji Temple. Before entering through the main gate, we started it with a delicious meal in a restaurant nearby. After that, we checked the grand entrance known as Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) with a huge lantern and statues of Fūjin -Japanese god of wind and Raijin-the Japanese god of thunder.
Kaminarimon
Buddhist god Tenryū
goddess Kinryū
Admission here is free but make sure you have plenty of cash to try local specialties and buy souvenirs  along Nakamise shopping street and Shin-Nakamise which is a covered shopping arcade. Usually shops are open from 9am until 7pm (others  even longer) but the Sensō-ji Temple is open at 6am until 5pm only. When the shops close, there are paintings on their shutters like this one. Another inner gate is The Hozōmon known as Treasure House Gate.
Nakamise Street
Shin Nakamise
Hozomon Gate
Another street worth checking out is Dempoin Street with its samurai warriors who belonged to the noble classes of ancient Japanese society. We had a great time getting silly shots here and spotting samurais.
I appreciate seeing Sensoji Temple and the five-story pagoda at night. It's quite a sight to behold with its gold and red color standing against the night sky.
Tokyo Skytree Tower- We took this shot coming from Asakusa Area. I believe this is part of the Sumida Park. It was late and cold ( around 3 degrees) so we decided not to go anymore to the Skytree Tower.
Picture
Third, Akihabara Electric Town is a heaven for anime, manga, karaoke and video game  fanatics. They even have maid cafes here. Cute cosplayers are promoting games and manga along the streets. Household electronics are sold in shops here including my favorite Electronic bidet toilet seat. This, you really have to try for yourself!
Fourth, Tokyo Disneyland This is the ultimate magical place you have to set foot into. It's like living inside a fairytale book.  I'll be sharing more of our experience for our stay here because its  the main highlight of our trip. Save your excitement for this! Here's some of the pictures we have. Click on this link for our Tokyo Disney Sea experience and Tokyo Disneyland Hotel accommodation.
Fifth, Yokohama Chinatown- Being the largest Chinatown in Asia, it's cool to include this in your visit to Japan.
Hope you enjoyed reading this post. If you have questions about Tokyo Japan, feel free to ask me in the comment below.

Mommy Bloggers Philippines' Christmas Party at The Linden Suites

12/15/2015

Comments

Mommy Bloggers Philippines celebrated its "A Christmas To Remember" Party  last December 5 at The Linden Suites'  Sky Lounge. It's my first time to attend this event and excitement thrilled me this much because it's a chance to know mommy bloggers in person. I've read some of these wonderful mom's blogs and I guess I've known them through what they share through their stories.
Buffet table was already set by The Linden Suite's in-house restaurant- Mesclun  which provided us a delicious lunch. Elegant gold and red decorations set the mood for Christmas festivity by Amari Events. Gifts and Christmas baskets from generous sponsors: Robinson's Supermarket, Jolly, Cinnabon, Rebisco Vitacubes, Red Ribbon, Melawares, Wacoal, Villa Conte Chocolates and Chelsy and Casey were displayed upon entering the Sky Lounge. Above all these, warm smiles by fellow mommy bloggers that welcomed me.
The program started immediately as the function room was filled with clicking of high heeled shoes of friendly mommies. Laughter and excitement stirred by games and raffle of gifts filled the room. We were even given the chance to introduce ourselves and tell something about us. I've shared a little of my story. It's opening up a window of myself to let them see the real me and listening to their stories too. I guess friendship starts with a simple smile and a bit of stories. Its creating bridges...and I treasure these bridges of friendship.

Picture
Another great game we played was the right/left game holding on to Rebisco Vita Cubes wherein we follow cues from the story being read and we either pass our gifts either left, right or across. Everyone had a great time playing this game.I definitely had fun! It's the same feeling I got when I used to be a child waiting for my turn to open my gifts. This child in me I couldn't and don't want to let go. And speaking of opening gifts, we also had our exchange gifts. Happy to received my anti-wrinkle cream from fellow mommy blogger.

Wrapping this day was taking home our loot bags like we went shopping with all the goodies and captured priceless pictures from Casa Litrato Im grateful that I have celebrated this early Christmas party with new found friends.

Special thanks to all the mommies who unselfishly gave every effort in making this event happen.

My Hart's Unplanned Birthday Celebration at Novotel

12/13/2015

Comments

My husband and I planned for a special celebration for his birthday. If you’re thinking of a grand celebration with a sumptuous feast, lechon and ending it with desserts with friends and family, this isn’t so. For us, a special celebration means a celebration of life. Being grateful for life itself. Thanking God for this miracle and a way to be a blessing to those less fortunate children.
This year, however, came with a double twist when her sister booked him for an overnight accommodation at newly-opened Novotel located at Araneta, Cubao. She said it’s a way for him to relax and unwind from his busy schedule.
We arrived two hours late at Novotel because of the heavy traffic and luckily settling immediately in our room is a thumbs up. As I opened the hotel room, I bursted into laughs. Well, you see the bathroom is divided with clear glass. I was thinking how can I take a bath and … you know what I mean. (Forgive my naivety). Good thing, my husband stayed at Novotel Thailand and he knows how to close the blinds. He said it’s the same interior with our room. Whew, that was a relief!

Picture
My model for this day struck a pose inside the bathroom. Bear with him, it’s his birthday. :) I wish I could share a video of him doing his silly dance moves. I ended laughing until my belly hurts. You, too, will surely laugh if I share it here. Just imagine … Hahaha!
Picture

While we were goofing around, we were interrupted by hotel staff bringing him his slice of complimentary tiramisu birthday cake. Yummy!

A handful of our family came to greet him but my husband left already for office. We dine at Max’s Restaurant without my husband. The thing I love about Novotel is that: it’s actually a stone throw away from shopping centers like Shopwise and Gateway and even Farmer’s Market.
Picture
Our stay at Novotel was cut short when my son called from home because of allergy. My husband went straight home to fetch him and we brought him to the hospital. In the morning, we let my eldest daughter and mother-in-law to avail our breakfast buffet.

I wish I could have spent that day swimming in the pool or snuggling beside my husband in bed. But plans sometimes are just plans. What I learned from what happened is that: people expect their plans to push thru. I must admit I’m counted for that. Yet, reality creeps in. I realized that there are no perfect plans that is in our control but everything...and I really mean, Everything is under control when we let God take control .I also believe that we are really blessed with an overflowing blessings . These blessings only equates with a grateful heart. You just have to acknowledge these blessings.

My husband’s birthday may have its twist and turns from our plans but bottom-line, I am grateful for this day. It’s a day my husband was born. Born destined to meet me according to God’s plan for me to love and be loved in return.

Thanks for reading. Hope I can listen to your stories as well. Share it here with us!

It's my first time to attend Mommy Bloggers Philippines' Spooky Circus Halloween Event. Honestly, I had second thought in attending this event due to bad weather. But as the saying goes - "Fun knows no season", so off we go to Tagaytay!

We arrived early at The Venue at Sky Ranch. We were greeted with warm smiles. Upon registering, we were provided with complimentary ride-all-you-can stamp and delicious food from Kenny Rogers. Thank you, Sky Ranch! Loot bags from generous sponsors: Nido 3+, Summit Media, URC, Jardine Distribution Inc., were given to us. Wow! Again, thank you for these give-aways!

The program was hosted by Mr. Poch Albiso, the Magic Meister. He made it the most enjoyable day with his magic show and games.

Children dressed in their Halloween costumes together with their families had fun watching him perform his craft. It was surely a fun-filled day for us.

As for me and my family, we ended it with rides at Sky Ranch before going home.
Indeed, Mommy Bloggers Philippines Spooky Circus Halloween event was made possible by generous sponsors and a team of mommies who love this blogging community. Thank you to everyone who made our Halloween special and memorable! ♥

Nobu Hotel, City of Dreams, Manila

10/23/2015

PictureEntrance to Nobu Hotel

When my sister-in-law booked us for an overnight stay at Nobu Hotel as a birthday present, I was ecstatic. Why wouldn't I? I was given the chance to visit City of Dreams Macau and having it here in the Philippines is absolutely  marvelous! Imagine, staying in one of the brand hotels of the luxurious City of Dreams - the two being, Crown Towers and Hyatt Hotel. Come and share with us pictures I've captured there... a virtual tour of our love nest for a day.

I got curious why this boutique hotel was named Nobu. I thought that since the interior were Japanese-themed, Nobu probably meant something in Japanese. So I searched it, and found out that it  means prolong or stretch. I got confused when another meaning says it's a shortened boy's name. Well, finally, I've learned that Nobu came from a world renowned chef, named Nobu Matsuhisa who owns several restaurants worldwide.

Picture"Chi"

Both rooms are crafted with this custom-made Calligraphy which represents "chi" which refers to the vital life force energy of the universe, or simply flow of energy.

PictureOpen Pool Area

My husband and I went to this open pool area for a quick dip. Staffs readily gave us towels and water bottles in a cooler. Water's temperature was perfect for a swim. The nanay-mentality in me just wish that my children were able to join us as we enjoyed this pool for ourselves (that is, except for the lifeguard on duty).

View from the 2 corner rooms we've accommodated with my in-laws. ↓
I love the garden view. During the night, I enjoyed looking at city lights.

This view right here will set anyone into their romantic mood.

More spots to fall in love with!

For my souvenirs, I brought home the Japanese-style black n' white slippers, cute wooden toothbrush and two large eco bags. I requested for one but happily thanked them for giving us two.

Sayonara! Thanks for visiting! ♥
